Infanticide:
Infanticide is a direct act that goes against the Right to Life of a children. Although this has been very common in the past, today we can see many cases of infanticide, especially against girls (female infanticide). In the past, and in many communities, this was a widespread practice that was sanctioned by different cultures around the world. Nowadays, this is considered an unethical crime; However, it is still done.
Causes:

It is the most common form of infanticide nowadays and in the past. This practice is important because in some cultures, men are considered more socially valuable than women. Also, female infanticide is sometimes associated with population control.
If a baby is known to be a woman, many parents would prefer to have an abortion before they are born.
This practice is directly against the right to life due to gender bias, which specifically violates women's rights. Female Infanticide and abortion have caused great disparities in sex in some regions. In 2007, the United Nations announced that it had not. The report estimates that about 100 millions women are missing worldwide, of whom 80 million are in China and India. In the future, this could lead to an increase in female trafficking or force women to marry more than one man.

Newborn Girl's Body Found in Pond in Bengal, Family Members Arrested.
After a missing report was filed by a neighbour of the family residing in Sophiabad, police launched a search and found the body on Tuesday.
The family members of a newborn girl in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur district have been arrested after her body was recovered from a nearby pond, police said on Wednesday.
"The father, mother, grandmother and grandfather of the child have been arrested as we are certain of their involvement. This was their second girl child, " police said.
An autopsy report is awaited to ascertain the exact cause of death.
